Sample Poem from my book A GLASS DARKLY (audio available on soundcloud)

Apache tears

Rain bangs like tambourines on a window pane.

I look up...into the the glass and through my reflection,

Staring into my eyes--inside my windowed pain

Searching for a song, any joyous song to sing.

And life is but a dream, i know,

Yet as i row row row my boat

There's nothing gentile about getting this bitch up stream

Peering out, onto the pier, and into the sea

I wonder, “is she lonely as me?”

Has she seen what i’ve seen?

For i too, have viewed the world through

the tempest of an angry ocean breeze.

I too have nurtured the trees

planted in the soil on the rocky hills that surround me.

I too have hopelessly searched for sobriety

amidst this bubbling liquid rage!

I too seek tranquility

within the violent rhythm of these crashing waves

Presently drifting past the future

On my river of tears, I...i float away...
